[14:50] Hey george, [14:50] currently we try to get a cleaner approach on the grfs in our grf package from #openttdcoop [14:50] Unfortunately I didn't find any license information concerning your many grfs, or a statement wrt distributing them [14:51] How can I help you? [14:51] Well, we would like to have your consent to distribute your grf. :) [14:52] you've been through all this license stuff, so you know all the arguments :) [14:52] if you have a more general license - which I didn't see - please let me know :) [14:53] distribute as in our #openttdcoop grf pack [14:54] and - seperate issue and only a thought so far - to put them into a repository which would allow clients to download missing grfs [14:54] In all cases, of course, we attribute the grfs to you and send any accompaning files / notices, if and what you like. [14:56] http://www.openttdcoop.org/wiki/GRF#Download <-- that's what we currently have. Basically a huge collection. Quite popular though :) [14:56] a few thousand downloads per grf pack [15:00] and, well, we like your grf a lot, so I would really like to have them included leagally in order to make it easy for new players to join our servers. [15:01] I'm not a lawyer, so I do not know how to do it the right way. You are free to use anything I crated in my GRFs as soon as you state that it is was crated by me or based on my art/code. [15:01] But I do not know what to do with other people art. I have their permission to use their art in my GRFs, so I suppose it is allowed to redistribute GRFs unchanged. [15:01] But when you change the GRF I do not know how legal is to distribute it father. So, I suppose, if you would like to use parts of the GRFs, you need to contact me to be sure that these parts were drawn by me. As of the code, all the code of the ECS vectors is done by me and can be freely used. [15:02] Myself I don't want to modify it. It's up to you what you want to allow other people to do :) Only what you expicitly state is allowed... [15:02] Concerning other authors and contributors: we asked / will ask them, too. [15:03] So, basically I'm concerned with your contribution :) [15:03] If another contributor says 'no' - bad luck though :S [15:04] maybe you may consider to have a look at the creative commons license: http://creativecommons.org/international/ [15:04] you choose what you want to allow. All legal words are already written. [15:04] Yes, you have my permission. [15:04] sorry if I'm a pain with this legal bullshit. [15:05] Thanks a lot :)
